I would like to commend you on the growth of the conference that has taken place in just one year. Your efforts to make this an outstanding educational and scientific experience are obvious, and the growth of the conference in just one year is something you should be congratulated for, and be proud of.
James Rosneck, Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA

In my humble opinion, I believe it was a very rich conference. The topics were world class. Something I hear usually in major conferences like Hospital for special surgery and AAOS. i agree the attendees were distracted by the beautiful resort.
Keep on the good work and i truly believe you and your assistants did an outstanding job of selection of lectures, place food, organization etc.
Sam Hakki, Bay Pines, Health Care Florida, USA

Sam Morgan, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, North Cumbria University Hospital, UK

The course is a smash hit; we need to keep it going; Dr.Hofman is a perfect teacher, course hand-outs printed well; computer sessions were very well staffed, although attendance was not great. The course needs to get split over 2 days.
Emad Saweeres, Consultant, Al Sahel Teaching Hospital, Cairo, Egypt

Venue was perfect; timing of the conference during January is perfect; faculty was well trained to give lectures and very scientific; preconference course was perfect as overall evaluation and added to me a lot; conference papers were new and presenting relevant points; workshop was very informative and to the point; sticking to the time was perfect; the financial issues were fine and reasonable; organization (pre and during) was perfect. But, the TKR course was very compressed with a lot of information in one day.
Ahmed Hazem Abdel Azeem, Lecturer, Kasr Al-Aini Hospital, Cairo University, Egypt

Congratulation for this excellent successful arthroplasty conference. I learnt too much from discussion and updated my information on computer assisted arthroplasty. l also enjoyed beautiful sharm.

2015

2016

  • The conference was overall a good experience, as u know I have attended a lot of conferences in UK and internationally, I do not have previous experience with Egyptian conferences.
  • Positive points:
    • A lot efforts were put in it, this was obvious
    • A lot of money was also spent, again this was obvious
    • Overall organisation was good
    • Programme was diverse, well balanced
  • Areas for improvement:
    • Of course I understand because of the political situation things might not have gone the way u want
    • Multiple issues were left for last minute, typical Egyptian style, this should not be the case, I recommend u delegate some of the tasks to others early and have a clear programme fixed at least 2 months before hand Advertising; create an email list of all attendance, give them discount if they book next yr in advance, discount if they book in a group to encourage juniors to attend, they can pay a non refundable deposit early to book at discounted rate and full fees a bit later
    • Advertising; ur target should be arab/middle east countries aim to have a formal channel with orthopaedic authorities (like Saudi orthopaedic department) in these countries, offer a discount if any of their members register
    • Audience; most of whom I seen were either professors or working in a university related positions, this by itself is good but u need to also attract others, mainly juniors and ministry of health surgeons
    • Audience; consider offering young surgeons (? below 35yrs) a discount, may be with medical companies offloading some of the cost?
    • sponsored places by the companies this will encourage them to attend
    • Programme; create a session for young surgeons to present their work with a prize for best papers and best poster
    • Programme; create a session for junior doctors soft skills, like presentation skills, how to write a paper, how to do scientific research, how to search for evidence ... etc
    • Programme; invite somebody from the Egyptian orthopaedic society as a formal presentation to give a talk about the current challenges facing orthopeadics in Egypt and other vital issues
    • Programme; invite someone from the ministry of health fellowship programme again to talk about the updates with the fellowship programme

Sherif Elnikety,, UK

Thanks for your efforts in preparation of this conference in such a hectic days. Second my only comment is would like to have and hear from more highly specialized surgeons in the field of arthroplasty I know that inviting more surgeons is very hard and demanding theses days but I am sure that next year en shaa Allah you will be able to do it
Ahmed Hazem Abdelazeem, Egypt

Thanks a lot for your invitation to the 9th international arthroplasty conference that was held in Sharm Elsheik. The conference this year covered a lot of interesting topics . The discussion and the presentations were of very high standard and covered very important topics. The organisation and venue were excellent. I will definitely recommend the conference next year to my colleagues

Thank you again for being a superb host - and ALL the work you did to make the course a success. The pictures are Good memory.
Lawrence Dorr, USA

Thanks for all your organisation for the meeting in Ain Sokhna and it was great meeting many of the local identities in Egyptian orthopaedics. Surgery on the Tuesday was also very interesting and it was good to be part of the introduction of the Oxford UKA into Egypt. I enjoyed the evening and meal at Le Pasha (over the Nile) including the very lively entertainment.
Rami Sorial, Australia

Congratulations for this successful meeting. We have already discussed the not ideal location, although it is very close to Cairo. To make the location attractive again I would propose either Sharm or Hurghada for the future.
Siegefried Hofmann, Austria

I am glad we had such a resounding success of our Unicompartmental instructional course. It seems there is a great support to having two courses per year.
Emad Saweeres, Egypt

The scientific content is excellent. The morning sessions on Fri and Sat are really condensed, attendants will be there for 4 hours without a break, I suggest 15 mins break in between if possible.

It has been a wonderful experience IAC 2019, Cairo. A program well orchestrated by masters like Rami and you was indeed sure to be a success. It was very well made. I wish that I am able to repeat the program in Delhi some day soon.
Prof. Rajeev Sharma, India

It was my pleasure to attend this event for the first time...Very interesting scientific contents. More picturesque Nile view in Cairo. Enjoyed the shisha in the Nubian Cafe. I will do my best to be a regular attendee of this conference from now. I look forward to see a shoulder session in next programs.
Prof. Sameh Ansara, UK

Agree with all the above. SENSATIONAL first visit to Cairo and Egypt. Great camaraderie amongst a truly international faculty. Had a brilliant time Keep me in mind for next one. And Delhi !
Pro. Dermot Collopy, Australia

The content and the faculty selection was great. Thanks for all the efforts you have put into this meeting. It was a real honor and pleasure to be part as faculty. For future meetings we might discuss, how we can attract more audience and keep the presentations less to allow more interaction. Looking forward to meet with all of you again in Egypt next year.
Prof. Siegfried Hofmann, Austria

Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality! It was an honor to have participated in this wonderful conference with the highest academic level. You made a terrific job on putting this together. I hope my talks left a useful message. I would be more than honored to continue to participate in future meetings and I know I share this feeling with my partners. What a beautiful country and people you have, I felt at home. Hope to see you soon in Orlando for AAOS.

Hatem Galal, Egypt

Thank you again. We had a great time and we felt at home. We will be more than happy to participate again in the future as long as the participants felt our talks were useful and informative.
Hopefully will see you soon in Orlando.
Carlos Higuera-Rueda, USA

Let me just reinforce Jorge’s words.
The hospitality and kindness was outstanding. It really felt like home. On top of that you have done an amazing job at organizing this meeting and I can only hope that we get the opportunity to join in the future.
Only two cents (suggestions) I would encourage more activities that would allow more interaction with the attendees. We could do round tables for case discussions where we can have cases to discuss, or even the attendees can bring their own cases to discuss with Faculty. Having such opportunities to have further discussion in smaller groups might generate more interaction with the attendees, who might not feel comfortable with asking questions or responding in larger crowds.
Nicolas Piuzzi

Thank you for the high quality congress and I hope that this will continue for the development of the international medical progress of the arthroplasty.
Basim Fleega, Germany

I would like to thank you, your team and all the organizer for delivering such a wonderful and enjoyable arthroplasty conference. The Presence of many distinguished guests and panels from Cleveland hospital and representative from many Universities across Egypt is enriched the scientific contents. The success was due to many positive points;
The audience enjoyed the presentations and workshops for operative techniques on the first day. The idea of a Debate between osteotomy arthroplasty was brilliant. Live surgery was successful with the interaction of the audience. I would like to give more chances to the younger generations of registrars to be more active and present papers. a session with a prize for the best presentation would be an encouraging reward.
Sameh Ansara, UK

Thank you for your fantastic work. You were gorgeous as we expect, you are an added value to any one or institute you are affiliated to.
Thanks a lot for you and your team. also great thanks to the amazing faculty and the attendees of the conference.
Atef Morsy, Egypt

I would like to mention that the 13th conference of arthroplasty Cairo was a very successful meeting which bypassed the previous conferences in its issues also in finding out for our underdeveloped countries the ways of giving the best possible treatment in a handy way.
Ismail Ghazal, Jordan

I really enjoyed my presence between all of you, it was a very successful and fruitful event, very well organised and gathering lots of international figures that was a pleasure to be with...
Ahmed Waly, Egypt

An up to date , fantastic , pure scientific , educational ,and highly organization committee , presence of The Elite International Speakers and The participation of The Stares of the Egyptian Professors in the Speciality of Arthroplasty , could not be very successful , without the commitment and The full dedication of The International Professor , The Son of Egypt , Prof. Mahmoud Hafez. Thank You for inviting me to this Great Scientific Event and the advanced school of Arthroplasty.
Mohammed Al-Awlaqi, USA

Wael Barsoum, USA

Thank you Mahmoud and the organising team. The time taken to organising this sort of connection is not lost on me and your continued dedication to the process is admirable. What a shame we could not connect in person and rely on unflattering zoom photos but hoping the coming year graces us with resolution of the pandemic for all countries. Good presentations and thanks for the invite to join you.
Rami Sorial, Australia

It was a great pleasure for me to be at a such activity, it proved that this kind of activity like one of the Egyptian pyramids. So keep on. I found it as a great opportunity specially during this current situation, we all shared a high level of knowledge and experiences. Thank you again

Ahmed Kandil, Egypt

Many thanks for giving me an opportunity to share our work that we did together on an international platform. Kudos and congratulations on hosting this event during difficult times.

  • Pearls
    • Rich quality of research topics discussed with very renowned International speakers giving their thoughts/tips
    • Very impressive ideas and research studies especially by the young group of surgeons
    • The event management team ( Including Mr Ahmed ) for being very helpful and accessible at all times and helping us with links/ Time zones
  • Pitfalls - NIL
    • If I really have to be critical then I would request for more Audits to be done and discussed as it's a very important self assessment tool to analyse and implement a change/reflect on one's practise. It also helps in understanding concepts of National Joint registries and aids us to adhere to standards/guidelines. Thank you Once again, Regards
